
David Carter
Partner
David Carter is a founding partner of Grechi Carter Professional Corporation, where he co-manages the real estate department with a focus on private and commercial mortgage financing and mortgage enforcement work. David received his B.A. from McGill in 2008, his International Public Law Certificate through Queen’s University, Herstmonceaux in 2009, and his J.D. from Queens in 2011.
David is the co-author of two real estate law textbooks: Real Estate Transactions, 2nd Edition, and Carter On Easements, and various papers published with the Law Society of Ontario on topics including Time of the Essence, Outstanding Building Permits, Construction Financing and Mortgagees, Self-to-Self Power of Sales, and s. 17 of the Mortgages, Boundary Discrepancies, Super Priorities and Mortgages etc.
He teaches as an adjunct professor at Osgoode Hall Law School and at the University of Toronto Law School, for Osgood’s Professional LLM program in Financial Law, and as the instructor for REALPAC/Toronto Metropolitan University’s Real Property Investment Certificate Program.
